New York Fashion Week is in full effect, and I thought a roundup of recent shows was needed. I picked out a few select designer looks from yesterday's shows. You can view full collections on Style.com.

Various designers have sent their spring collections down the runway and it has been a fashion frenzy. So far it looks like we will be seeing a mix of both muted and vivid monotone looks mixed with intricate details and textures next spring. As far as colors, I'm seeing a lot of neutral tones, golden yellows, pinks, red/oranges and blues - not so much of the pastels from the past, but vibrant and rich colors.

In particular, one collection that stood out for me was Oscar de la Renta. He showcased fresh color splashes - using neutral tones as a base and then building on them with bright pinks, yellows and teals. I loved the textures, embellishments and lace - very feminine.

This navy Rodarte dress features a gold caged waist detail that takes the look to another level. I loved some of the other colors and textures showcased in this collection.

This hot pink two piece suit from Rachel Roy's collection was a standout.

Marc by Marc Jacobs stuck to heavy layers and mixed prints for an unconventional preppy look in the collection.

Jenny Packham kept it classic with this lemon ensemble.

I liked Alice + Olivia's updated take on the draped boho chic maxi in this bright coral color.

Vera Wang used a lot of rich solids and prints in her collection, and this bold blue dress caught my eye.

I liked the simplicity of this dress by Narciso Rodriguez.

With the last days of NYFW left, you can still check out the schedule on the official Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week site.
