Whit Picks: July

Time for our fashion picks for July! Take a look at some of our recent purchases, most wanted items and picks for the month!

Whit W: I have been wanting a pair of the "Whitney" Tom Ford sunglasses for ages - for obvious reasons. In addition to the name, I always loved the open temple style of the glasses, and oversized rounded shades always seem to work for me:

However, I could never bring myself to paying the nearly $400 price tag for a pair, even if I could afford it lol. It just remained another thing on my most wanted list of overpriced but fab designer items. While doing a post for affordable summer items, I found this pair of Charlotte Russe sunglasses and wanted them immediately:

They have the similar open temples and, even better, when ordering online I found that they were on sale for $3! Needless to say, I'm happy with my purchase and think they are a great look for less substitute (for now) for the Tom Ford pair.

I also needed some more everyday shirts for the summer so I went to Von Maur over the weekend (a department store at my local mall) and grabbed a bunch of items on sale. I ended up purchasing 4 tops, a pair of blueberry colored Jessica Simpson jeans (on sale for $12) and paid around $100 for all of it! One of the shirts I got was this open back top by Jessica Simpson (I actually got it on sale for $32, original price $49):

Whit R: So… I've probably been shopping a little TOO much. I think with Bath and Body Works and Victoria Secret having their semi annual sales, I went a little overboard! In early June, I was browsing Hautelook (as I do everyday) and came across the S.H.E. Cold Shoulder Fit & Flare Dress. They had a few different colors but I chose the Lime for a standout summer color.

As ridiculous as it may sound, I JUST took it out the packaging (LOL). Since skater style dresses are in, I decided I would order since it was only $25. I believe regular price was around $100 so at 75% off, why not! I literally just tried it on about 20 minutes ago and I really love it. I plan on purchasing a skinny belt to break it up some. I can always use Empire Girl Julissa's style as inspiration as well.

Something else I grabbed while shopping were these Rubi braided bracelets for $3.95.

I don't wear a lot of jewelry but for the price I thought they would look cute with a casual outfit. I also liked the color combination. I purchased them from the store Cotton On. Not sure how many of you have these in your area but it recent came to Richmond. When I went in, they had a variety of high low casual tops, some with shoulder cut outs for only $5! I grabbed about 4 tops along with the bracelets. If you don't have a Cotton On store near you, you can visit their website HERE.

Whit W: Honestly, lately I have been more focused on decor and furniture purchases for my new place (and found some great buys at favorites like Kirklands, Homegoods and Bed Bath & Beyond), but I would love to find a cute yellow top for my family reunion at the end of this month. Yellow is the color we usually wear, so I have been on the hunt for a cute top.

Any of these options could work:

Whit R: The item that I chose that I want is pretty simple! I spotted some earrings on the Bakers website.

The Spike Hoop Earrings are only $12. Again, I don't wear much jewelry. Earrings studs are usually what I have on so I need to expand a bit.
