Designer Spotlight: Lace by Tanaya

We got a chance to catch up with young designer Tanaya Henry and learn about her jewelry line Lace by Tanaya. In our exclusive interview, she tells us about how she became interested in fashion, working with other celebrities, her inspirations and gives some tips for breaking into the industry!

What is Lace by Tanaya and how did it come about?
Lace by Tanaya is my jewelry line that started as a hobby, but quickly grew into my life! I made a piece for myself and a few friends. My friend wore it at work and Alicia Keys' stylist asked her for my information... that's when it all began!

Have your pieces been seen on any celebrities? If so, Where? 
Yes, Alicia Keys, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Keri Hilson, Megan Good, Estelle, Tika Sumpter, on the show The Game (3x) and many more to come!

Tell us more about Tanaya
I grew up in Prior Lake, Minnesota. I graduated high school and went to school for one year for computer programming and realized that I wouldn't be able to work in a cubicle for the rest of my life...so I packed up my things and went to New York to model. I signed with Wilhelmina models and moved into a photographer friends 9,000sq. ft. creative warehouse with a green screen, indoor pool, trampoline, dance studio and more. That's where I got creative and really made everything come to life.

Evelyn Lozada Sexy in Silver

Most people have been tuning into this season of Basketball Wives and this past Monday, Evelyn Lozada tweeted pictures from the reunion show. She said: I was pretty much naked! Woop! She wore the Silver Bridgette Foil – Printed Bandage Corset Dress which is part of Herve Leger’s 2011 Spring Collection. She added a pop of blue with the Christian Louboutin Daffodile Watersnake Pumps.

Miss Keri Baby was spotted in NYC taking a shopping stroll in the rain. Now, we all know Keri is normally OFF when it comes to her looks but I've (Whitney R) gotta say that I don't think this is all that bad. The look is simple but the neon adds a touch of color and the wedges are hot! (She's worn them before).

Miami Fashion Week + Looks for Less

Miami Fashion Week was from July 14th to the 18th (yeah, we are a little late but better late than never right?) The fashion shows featured swim collections from some of the top swimsuit designers such as Mara Hoffman, Beach Bunny, Poko Pano, A.Che, Deolores Cortes, and more. Adrienne Bailon showed off her figure walking the runway for some of Nicolita's pieces. The Hills star Kristin Cavallari even walked the runway for Diesel. A lot of the swimwear had a tribal print theme (as you can see from above). I (Whitney R) can personally say that there wasn't a swimsuit that I saw that I DIDN'T like. (If you know me personally, you know that I have an obsession with buying swimsuits... now, I just need to be super skinny so I can wear them all LOL)

Requested Look: Rosie's Transformers Style

I'm sure most of you have seen transformers but if you haven't… it's a must see! The fashion is definitely more upscale than before. We aren't sure of the exact brands of Rosie's dresses but her cowl neck dress looks extremely similar to one on VictoriasSecret.com. And it's currently on sale for only $69.50!

Product Review: Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Glow Pad

It's summer time and some of us are looking for a way to great summer tan without laying in the sun. I, Whitney R, love laying out but I had the opportunity to try the Alpha Beta Glow Pad which is part of Dr Dennis Gross Skincare products. This product has Vitamin D and Soy Protein which creates a natural healthy glow. I used one towelette on my face in the morning and you could see results within hours. WARNING: Make sure when applying, you cover ALL areas. I wasn't expecting a dramatic change so I didn't apply in all areas and you could definitely see the difference. Other than that, I have no complaints.

The rest of my towelettes, I donated to a co-worker to get her opinion. She is very pale and hasn't had much exposure to sun because she recently had a baby. She used to glow pads on her legs and arms and was beyond pleased. It added about 2 shades to her natural color.

Overall, I would recommend the product. These could be most useful in the winter when we can't get that sunkissed summer glow.

Kim Kardashian showed off a vintage style on the set of her new Fragrance Commercial . Her style consisted of a long pencil skirt, deep v button up blouse, stilettos, a head scarf, and some sexy cat eye shades. She added a pop of color with her orange belt.

Miss Kelly Rowland was spotted shopping at London's River Island this week. We are used to her fab red carpet looks, but she always seems to look nice even on a more laid-back day.

She kept it casual in a tied-up denim shirt over a white top, skinny jeans and blue peep-toe pumps. She carried a tan bag and accessorized with a layered necklace and aviators.

Cute look, but I think I (Whitney W) would try a different shoe... maybe some tan wedges (which would also be more comfortable to shop in!).

Meagan… Meagan… Meagan. Over the weekend she was photographed in Atlantic City on the red carpet for the "BlackHollywood" Party. Megan wore a tank top with a bodycon skirt, ripped tights, and over the knee suede boots. Is it us or is Meagan always off a bit? Do we need to Get WHIT it or should Meagan Get Lost? This look could have went from a 2 to a 10 in a matter of seconds by removing the boots and tights and adding some pumps.
