This week we caught up with designer Mali Ro. She's gives us some inside details of her Fall Collection and lets us know what she can't live without. Check her out!

Who is Mali Romeo?

I am Mali Romeo. I'm the 21 yr old owner and designer of the contemporary womenswear line MÚS by Mali Ro. I am an artist and MÚS is my canvas.

Who (if anyone) inspired you to design and are there any inspirations from your collections?

No one inspired me to design, it sort of just fell into my lap. I am inspired by color though, not the typical red, blue and yellow, I like everything in between like Aqua Mint, Coral, Fuschia, Peach etc. I love discovering new ways to make colors work together. I watch a lot of HGTV and I see it all the time with interior design how they have the main colors and then all the accents, I'm inspired by that as well.

Do you plan on expanding beyond tops, skirts, and dresses?

Yes I do, it's funny no one really knows about my first collection from Autumn 2009. It was a Black & Gold Collection and completely opposite of what I'm doing now. I am capable of creating anything. I'm sure there are people put there thinking, "Why is she doing the same thing" The reason I did my everything for another season in fresh color combos, is because I believe that my brand should have a look, like you should be able to identify it when you see it. When you see my skirt you KNOW right off the bat that it's a MÚS by Mali Ro skirt. It's my job to make the consumer understand my brand and what I'm doing and I didn't feel like I fulfilled that last year, so I made sure I had more control this year and with the release of Spring and Summer 2011 I can now say that I've done my job and I'm pleased with the positive feedback. Now I will take everything I've done and incorporate it into my next collection, of course I'll be using different fabrics and playing around with new silhouettes, I'm really excited about it.

Can you give us any inside deets on the Fall 2011 collection?

Fall will have a really organic, clean and airy feeling to it. The colors, the fabrics and textures will be wonderful.

What is your favorite piece of clothing that you couldn't live without?

I can't live without my vintage bag. I got it while thrifting in Tennessee and it just ties all of my outfits together. I'm not sure what culture it's from, reminds me of a Mexican print, the combo of the wood, the print and the leather is just perfect.

Do you have any advice for up and coming designers?

Yes! Stay true to yourself and your craft. Originality is key and they will either hate it or love it, but you must stay true to your craft through it all.
